Accessibility information published for Welsh polling stations
People can check polling station accessibility online for first time at Welsh election
Accessibility information has been published online for Wales’ polling stations for the first time at vote.wales.
Vote.wales is a brand new voter information website launched to give people voting confidence ahead of the Senedd election on 7 May 2026.
The website is managed by the Electoral Management Board for Wales, part of the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru.
Using their postcode, voters can now find out where they’ll be voting on 7 May 2026, and crucially, how accessible their polling station is.
The newly published information includes:
· Whether the polling station is a temporary structure
· Whether there is parking, including disabled parking nearby
· Whether there is level access to the polling station
· Whether a temporary ramp is present if there is no level access
· Whether the building has a hearing loop
· Whether there are publicly accessible toilets on site
People can find this important information by using the postcode search on vote.wales and then clicking on their polling station address.
Publishing this information in advance of the election gives voters the opportunity to plan ahead for election day.
Vote.wales has been able to publish accessibility information for 2,164 of the 2,171 polling stations in Wales.
Vote.wales has also published a guide to accessible voting, letting people know what their rights are when they go to vote and what support is available.
Commenting on the publication of accessibility information, Chief Executive of the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru, Shereen Williams MBE OStJ said:
“Vote.wales exists to turn voting confusion into voting confidence. We want everyone to be able to turn up to vote on 7 May fully informed of what their polling station offers.
“If you have more questions about the accessibility of your polling station, we’ve also published contact details for your council who’ll be able to help.
“Vote.wales also has advice on your rights to vote in a way that’s accessible to you, as well as guides on voting by post or by proxy if you can’t get to the polling station on 7 May.
“We’d like to thank our partners across Wales’ councils as well as Democracy Club for making it possible to publish all of this information for the first time.”
