Electoral Management Board for Wales
The Electoral Management Board for Wales (EMB) is part of the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru (DBCC), an independent Welsh Government–sponsored body. The EMB and the DBCC operate independently of the Welsh Government, the Senedd, and all political parties in Wales.
Purpose of website
vote.wales / bwrwpleidlais.cymru has been created by the Electoral Management Board to provide impartial, accurate and trustworthy information to voters. For more information about the website, please visit this page.
The website is designed to meet the requirements for a Welsh Elections Information Platform as set out in legislation. For Senedd elections and Principal Council elections, the website must publish:
official election notices issued by Returning Officers
the location of polling stations and information on who is entitled to vote there
accessibility arrangements at polling stations
information about candidates and registered political parties standing in the elections
election addresses of political parties and individual candidates
election results
The website may also publish other information that supports participation in elections and democratic processes.
Terms of use
The Electoral Management Board aims to ensure that vote.wales / bwrwpleidlais.cymru is available at all times (24 hours a day, 7 days a week). However, the EMB accepts no liability if the website becomes unavailable for any period. The EMB may suspend the website at any time for maintenance, system failures, or any other reason deemed necessary.
By accessing this website, users agree to use it lawfully and responsibly. Users must not:
interfere with or disrupt the website or its security features
misuse any information provided on the website
attempt to access restricted or non‑public areas of the system

Accuracy of information
The Electoral Management Board strives to ensure that information on vote.wales / bwrwpleidlais.cymru is accurate, impartial and up to date. However, some data is provided by external organisations over which the EMB has limited control. The following information is supplied by external sources:
Returning Officers (independently appointed to run elections)
polling station data, including accessibility information
official election notices
candidate information
count results
Democracy Club (a community interest company providing independent election information across the UK)
polling station allocation, address and accessibility information is supplied by Returning Officers and is processed and managed by Democracy Club
Electoral Commission (an independent body overseeing elections and regulating political parties in the UK)
party emblems displayed on candidate information pages are supplied by the Electoral Commission
Election addresses - election addresses published on vote.wales / bwrwpleidlais.cymru are the responsibility of the political parties or candidates.
Election addresses are, by nature, political campaigning material and therefore not politically neutral.
The EMB cannot amend, edit or interfere with these addresses.
Legislation prohibits content that is obscene, offensive, indecent or otherwise unlawful.
The EMB reviews each address before publication, but legal responsibility for the content rests with the candidate(s) and their election agent.
The EMB ensures that all eligible parties and candidates have the opportunity to submit an address.
Welsh language standards
The Electoral Management Board complies with Welsh Language Standards where applicable. All material under the EMB’s control is published in both Welsh and English.
Exceptions:
Some material is outside of the EMB's control which means that some information is published in English only on Welsh pages. This information could include:
Data from Returning Officers – some information is not provided bilingually. Returning Officers are not required to comply with Welsh Language Standards.
Election addresses – political parties and candidates may choose to submit their address in Welsh, English or both.
External links
vote.wales / bwrwpleidlais.cymru contains links to external websites. These are provided only to trusted partners such as the UK Government and the Electoral Commission. However, the EMB does not control and is not responsible for the content, security or privacy practices of external sites.
Where election addresses include links to party or candidate websites or social media, responsibility for those links and their content lies solely with the party or candidate.
