Dai Richards - Independent Serving the people, not the party Dear Elector We in Wales are entering a new system of politics, one where you vote for the party list not the person. But the opportunity still remains where people like myself, can stand as an independent to represent the people, the community and the country, not the party. No matter what your beliefs are, I will represent you, the person, not the party, this has always been my modus operandi, even when I have stood for a particular party in an election. It will always be my belief that politicians are there to represent the people, not the other way round. Those of you in Neath and Swansea East may remember that I stood for Reform in the general election of 2024 gaining the confidence of 10,170 people who placed a cross next to my name. Thank you to everyone who voted for me then, I am still humbled by that experience and I can guarantee you that I did not sit back and forget about you. I have been educating myself on governance responsibilities and failures and am two years wiser with what is happening within government and the political parties. As part of my 2024 election leaflet, I told the people about my military history and my achievements in business and sport, from being a Welsh Champion, to becoming a World Champion, and of being acclaimed the 'Fittest Man in Wales'. I told of my academic studies into the history of sport and how there is not a lot of difference between the combative strategies used in sport and the military and those in governance. Our biggest problem at present is that government departments are working against the people, not for the people and they don't follow the rules they set. The government is also the referee or judge and if the rules don't suit them, then they change them to suit themselves. Britain is broken and Wales is broken. I've identified why Wales is on the brink of becoming a third world country. The blame lies mainly with party politics, the party whip is and has been a collective betrayal of my father's generation who went to war for us, the future generations. The image on the front left of this leaflet is my father in service, and those are his medals. At age 18 he volunteered to go to war and he fought in World War II. I served twice as long as my father but never had to go to war because my father's generation stood up for the beliefs of a nation and made Britain and Wales safe so that my generation could grow up with freedom and opportunity. The photo to the right is of myself in service in my battalion running kit. I never experienced conflict thanks to my father and his generation who accepted their responsibility. Our nation is in a mess so that responsibility has now passed to me but I need your help to make Wales better. I need your vote. I hope you will support me with your vote so that I can support you, your family and your future generations. Regards—Dai Richards - Independent candidate - Senedd elections 2026 I will work for the community I am elected to serve. I will work toward a fair and just government system that promotes opportunity for all. I will work towards economic stability and/or growth. I will work toward a society that nurtures and supports our children. I will work toward a society that looks after the elderly with a quality care system. I believe in speaking the truth and free speech that is anchored in the truth. I will stand up when required and I will lead the fight for what we believe in.
