Election leaflet
Dear Resident, I’m Aaron Carey, and I’m standing as an Independent candidate for the new Ceredigion–Penfro constituency in this year’s Senedd elections. Born and raised in Pembroke, I live here with my family, help run our family business, and send my children to local schools. I have served on Pembroke Town Council from 2010-2022, was Mayor in 2014–2015, and currently represent Pembroke Monkton & St Mary South at the County level. In 2024, I chose to leave party affiliation to focus fully on representing our community as an Independent. I am standing because too many decisions affecting our daily lives are made by party machines rather than people who truly understand our area. From rural services, housing, and transport, to healthcare and local amenities, our communities deserve representation that listens first and puts local priorities above party politics. Over the coming weeks, I will be visiting towns and villages across Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire to meet residents, farmers, businesses, and community groups. With both counties covering around 1,300 square miles and 112,000 homes, I won’t be able to door knock everywhere—but I will be making myself available in several towns and villages. Please come and say hello, and let me know what matters most to you (full list on the back page). If you can’t make it for any reason, please feel free to email, write, telephone, WhatsApp, or message me through my candidate Facebook page. With lifelong local ties and hands-on experience in public service, I would be honoured to earn your support and provide a strong, independent voice in Cardiff Bay. Yours sincerely, Aaron Carey Independent Candidate
